THE JOY OF JAMAICA SUN, SEA, SAND AND SO MUCH MORE

Jamaica has prepared an endless galore of events for 2023, across culture, music, sport, gastronomy and adventure to welcome travellers from around the world. Tourism chiefs for the Caribbean island say it is time to 'come back to Jamaica'!

BACK WITH BOB MARLEY

Already this year, the islanders and holiday makers alike have celebrated Jamaica’s most favourite son Bob Marley with a dedicated, week-long celebration of reggae taking place in the capital, Kingston. Songs for the Soul – Back with Bob Marley, is an island-wide celebration of Bob Marley which took over the island in February, commemorating the life and achievements of the legendary superstar. But don’t worry if you’ve missed it as the sound of Bob is never far away in Jamaica and a trip to the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston will tell you all you need to know about the celebrated singer. The museum is situated on the site of the famed musician’s home, which he purchased in 1975. This house, featuring 19th-century architecture, was Marley’s home until his death in 1981. It was converted into a museum six years later by his wife, Mrs Rita Marley. The main museum displays Marley’s personal treasures. The property also features a well-equipped 80-seat theatre, a photographic gallery, a record shop and a gift shop filled with a wide array of Bob Marley memorabilia.

Relax and enjoy a sumptuous meal from the One Love Café after you’ve completed your tour which offers a peek into every aspect of Bob Marley’s life.

All will lead up to a road march on the 16th in grand parade fashion, where people dress up and hit the streets with creative colourful costumes.

For an unusual party-on-the-beach that celebrates freedom of self and expression, save the date for Mocha Fest from May 25-30 in Negril – five days of joyous drinks, dances, and top-class Hip Hop and Caribbean entertainment to help you find your power and beauty in the company of free-spirited people that are be-YOU-tiful.

The earthy and inspirational three-day Calabash Literary Festival is also returning this year to the rustic island outpost at Treasure beach from May 27 to 29, with a series of readings, interviews and open-mic sessions by leading literary figures such as
