G.W. Becker has been working closely with the Penn-Northwest Development Corp and the Lawrence-Mercer Manufacturers Coalition. Meanwhile, without duplicating such existing

Meeting demand A major driver of Pennsylvania’s manufacturing sector – and its demand for overhead cranes and hoists – is the Manufacturing PA Initiative. According to the DCED, this initiative supports the state’s manufacturing community through strategic partnerships with companies specialising in medical devices, organic foods nanomaterials and metal products, as well as job training programmes to develop a skilled workforce. Innovation Program leverages the internationally acclaimed science and engineering talent and discovery capacity at all of Pennsylvania’s institutions of higher education to help ensure that the state remains a national and international leader in manufacturing and achieves the full economic potential for good, well-paying manufacturing jobs. It states that Pennsylvania’s seven Industrial

For example, G.W. Becker has been working closely with two such regional organisations – the Penn- Northwest Development Corp and the Lawrence- Mercer Manufacturers Coalition. He explains that Penn-Northwest Development Corp has helped keep G.W. Becker in-tune with economic development opportunities, offering resources that support business growth, workforce development and local investment, while the Lawrence-Mercer Manufacturers Coalition provides a network of industry peers, helping the company to stay informed about manufacturing trends, workforce training programmes and advocacy efforts to strengthen its operations. On its website, Penn-Northwest Development

Corp explains that it was formed to confront and overcome any economic challenges being faced in Pennsylvania’s Mercer County and that it prepares a programme of work each year that state specific, measurable goals and objectives to help it execute the strategies that are needed to
