annual average growth of 2.5% between 2027 and 2030, supported by investment in transport infrastructure, data centres and housing construction. The forecast period will be largely supported by the Ontario government’s plan to invest CAD210bn ($153.1bn) over 10 years, including CAD37bn ($27bn) in 2026–27. This encompasses the development of hospitals, highways, transit and community infrastructure to strengthen Ontario’s economy and ensure communities thrive for generations to come. Moreover, in April 2026, the Canadian government launched the Build Communities Strong Fund, which will provide funding of CAD51bn ($37.2bn) over 10 years to support the development of housing, health, transit, sport, education and climate adaptation across the country. The federal government is also aiming to tighten vehicle greenhouse gas (GHG) standards for model years 2027–32 and aims for an EV adoption rate of 75% by 2035 and 90% by 2040. The government also introduced the Build Canada Homes (BCH) Act in October 2025 as part of its strategy to address the national housing crisis. As part of this act, in early February 2026, the
