Understanding the stakes before touching the steel The first step in any successful crane installation isn’t placing an order; it’s understanding the operation. For a manufacturer in growth mode, today’s layout is rarely tomorrow’s. Production zones shift, throughput targets climb and the demands placed on material handling equipment evolve in ways that can be difficult to anticipate. Gengroup’s approach began not with a
product catalogue, but with a conversation. Working directly alongside the client’s team, Gengroup’s engineers assessed the full scope of the facility: its production workflow; load requirements across different zones; the physical constraints of the building envelope; and the regulatory obligations that come with operating overhead lifting equipment in Ontario. From that
foundation, a multi-phase installation plan took shape, one that would bring an integrated, facility- wide material handling infrastructure online from a single, accountable source.
