Demag KBK modular bridge crane system, featuring eight 500kg cranes at a 5,000mm span, supported by a custom-fabricated GCC structural support system. The KBK platform is one of the most trusted light crane systems in the world – and for good reason. Its modular, light-rail design brings ergonomic, repeatable lifting capability directly to the operator, precisely where it is needed, without the physical toll of manual handling. What makes this installation stand out is the support structure itself. Rather than relying on the client’s existing building steel, an approach that often introduces compromise, Gengroup engineered and fabricated a dedicated GCC support structure purpose-built for this application. Critically, this structure was designed and sized so that every crane on each runway can operate at full rated capacity simultaneously in each bay. There is no derating, no sequencing and no waiting for one crane to finish before another can carry a full load. Every operator has access to the full capability of their crane, at the same time, every time. The result is a system fully optimised for the facility’s geometry, load paths and future flexibility: eight cranes, eight bays, one unified system.
Part 2 – Free-standing crane systems: Heavy-lift capability where it’s needed most Beyond the production floor, three independent free-standing crane systems bring serious lifting power to the facility’s most demanding zones: Packing area: A free-standing system with three 3,000kg single girder top running bridge cranes, engineered to handle the weight and
pace of finished goods movement in a high- throughput packing environment.
Assembly area: A matching free-standing system with three 3,000kg single girder top running bridge cranes, positioned to move heavy components precisely and repeatedly through the assembly process.
Test line: A third free-standing system with two 3,000kg and one 1,000kg single girder top running bridge cranes, extending heavy- lift capacity to additional areas as the facility continues to scale.
As with the KBK system, each of these free- standing structures was engineered to support full simultaneous operation across all cranes on the runway, with no restrictions, no limitations and no compromises to rated capacity. Taken together, these three systems deliver nine heavy- duty bridge cranes, strategically positioned, independently structured and collectively capable of eliminating the lifting bottlenecks that quietly choke a growing operation.
