IMEAS
At Ligna 2023 IMEAS will feature its range of EvoL sanders and automation solutions aimed at new market segments. IMEAS has recently introduced its own solution for sanding glulam beams on four sides, developing a specifically conceived side sander, the EvoL-Side. Having a standard working thickness of 700mm (28in) it is possible to adapt the EvoL-Side to various useful working widths by combining it with conventional sanders for working the upper and lower faces of the glulam beam. In the cross-laminated timber panel
segment, there were continuous technical improvements to its EvoL-CLT sanders that offer flexible configurations and a useful width up to 3600mm (12ft). For factory automation and integration
IMEAS’ offer includes the Full Control System PLUS (FCS+), a complete hardware and software package capable of communicating with factory management systems (MES, ERP) to control the sanding process, substantially improving the quality and consistency of the final product by minimising human intervention and errors. of the “All in One” Cyclops optical sorter based on NIR detection technology equipped with artificial intelligence, compressed air blowers and the artificial intelligence to remove contaminants. The model can be integrated with a metal detector, blower and X-rays, and used to remove all kinds of contaminants from the wood flow - like plastic (including black plastic), rubber, foam, stones, metals (including stainless steel) and laminated chips. Thanks to the new module with which it is equipped, it is possible to control up to four users, amongst which NIR, VIS, ABAS utilise the same classification algorithms. PAL says the Cyclops technology enables MDF panels to be produced efficiently from recycled wood.
