A mini production line will be created to demonstrate the full operational potential of the innovative FBC200 blow detector. Visitors can also view The IMAL Smartlab full range of laboratory equipment with over 50 testing units.
Siempelkamp will have a multi-sensual
“Experience Walk”. New products and approaches to resource efficiency and recycling are presented in the area of “sustainability”, anchored in the topics of wood/material use, emissions and energy. The topic of intelligent production will be a focal point in a digital experience room. Siempelkamp will be presenting the new digital platform IQ to the public here for the first time – a digital, holistic overall approach for the plant operator. And the ContiRoll Generation 9i will be presented with further developments. At the preview, Hymmen, which specialises in production technology for the large-scale production of panel materials and surfaces, said it is aiming to build on the recent successes of its digital printing technology on an international scale. It now has over 50 JUPITER digital printing systems in operation.
On its stand, a wide variety of digitally enhanced materials can be viewed and touched, with examples of digital lacquer embossing (DLEplus) technology. With the help of a graphic, the individual process steps of the production will be explained to the interested visitor. Hymmen’s experts will also discuss
press technologies, liquid coating, calendar coating inert and laminating equipment, as well as digital printing of décor paper with water-based inks using the SATURN digital printing line.
SCM’s Superfici finishing technology
business will showcase its innovations in Hall 16. A dedicated area will be given over to the new compact xl in the sprayers section, increasingly focused on energy saving, thanks to an efficient paint recovery system and improved air circulation. Also on display is a UV-led polymerisation
system with several UV monochromatic sources of different wavelengths to achieve a controlled multi-chromatic emission in a wider spectrum compared to the pure UV-led radiation.
And for extra-opaque effects on the finish there will be the new Superfici excimatt. Cefla Finishing will showcase its J-Print range of industrial digital printers enabling highly customised decorations and minimum time to market. The J-PRINT TD model performs embossing in register and printing with 400dpi resolution. It will also have excimer technology in its
Exydry matting oven for flat and slightly raised panels using significantly reduced quantities of nitrogen. It is designed to achieve a deep matt value of less than 5 on a 0/100 gloss scale and a fingerprint-proof surface, even on raised panels. The Digital Printing Association (DIPA) is returning to its founding venue this year. On the opening day of Ligna DIPA will present a two-hour “future workshop” on digital printing to highlight, among other things, the DIPA Academy as a solution to the acute shortage of skilled workers, the use of artificial intelligence in the digital printing process, and the need to build an ecosystem of its own in the digital environment of different machine manufacturers, technologies, and a wide variety of materials. Its 23 members include Adler, AVA CAD
CAM, ColorGATE, CRUSE Spezialmaschinen, Deutsche Messe, Durst, HOMAG, Hymmen,
IPAC, INSERCO, INTERPRINT, König & Bauer, Li & Co, MB-Digitalprint, MOSS, Plantag Coatings, SURTECO, Teknos and warda design.
On the panel dividing saw front, Homag will be presenting the all-new SAWTEQ B-300 and B-400 series panel dividing saws for the first time, both of which have been updated with significant and innovative new features. The cutting solution combines performance, speed and reliable technology with increased intelligence and digital, self- learning functions. This is reflected, among other things, in an increased performance level because of an improved sawing process and optimisation with reduced energy consumption.
The machine is also equipped with a new function that uses sensors to detect the dimensional accuracy of the workpieces and transparently reports this back to the operator. This increases process reliability and provides more transparency in cutting. Irish handling specialist Combilift has been busy since the last Ligna introducing new models, finessing technology and expanding its global markets. Ligna 2023 also coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary. The company’s innovations and new product launches will be the main focus but Combilift also likes to entertain with “dancing” trucks and Irish music. Around 16 exhibits will demonstrate
Combilift’s solutions in the various wood products sectors, ranging from small pedestrian 1,000kg capacity stackers to straddle carriers and mobile gantries, which can lift loads of 100,000kg and over. All in all, Ligna is bound to be a popular
show and a magnet for innovation. As one of the Ligna mottos reads – “People, Technology, Innovations…”
