The world continues to be a worrying place. Climate change, the cost of living crisis, supply chain disruption, war in Ukraine, and rising gas prices all underpin an uncertain future. As if all that wasn't enough now Queen Elizabeth II has died. One thing that struck me whilst watching the crowds that


flocked to London to pay their respects to the late Queen was how integral to identity mass gatherings can be. Not only that, but the strength that can be found from unity. These two themes, 'identity' and 'strength through unity',


feature in this issue, too. On page 51 Ton Klijn, director of ESTA – the European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes, outlines why the need for cooperation across Europe has never been greater.
