one segment where versatility is already king is forklifts, reach stackers and telehandlers. Speaking to leading OEMs in this space, it became clear that a period of volatility is another chance for their equipment to shine. Interestingly, geopolitics and global conflicts are impacting investments in both a positive and negative way. While some ports and terminals are reigning in their capital expenditure, others are scrambling to invest in more equipment and attachments. A great example is those operators charged with handling military cargo, which can have very different requirements to standard containerised solutions. We cover this and more in our deep dive into the mobile workhorses found at every port, terminal and yard. One of the key trends in this segment is digitalisation, which we explore in greater detail in a separate feature encompassing all port equipment. Clearly, terminals are embracing a range of technologies from telematics to operator assistance and beyond. And one of the key messages here was worth repeating: not only is digitalisation a vital precursor to automation, but it can deliver significant benefits along the way. Continuing this edition’s theme of positivity, we celebrate the career of Bromma’s Lars Meurling, a well-known and

respected industry figure who is embarking on his retirement – and perhaps some consultancy work. We certainly hope that he remains in the industry. And we look forward to the Breakbulk Americas trade show, with another packed show floor for you to enjoy.
