Making an informed decision, Is Holiday Home Ownership for you?


T is is the f rst, and most important, question to ask. Of course making an informed decision means asking the right questions. So try asking the following:


• Realistically how much time am I likely to spend on leisure breaks each year? Will it be the occasional weekend or weeks at a time? The longer or more frequent, the stronger the case for your own static holiday home.


• Do I like the fl exibility to come and go as I please, without having to worry about planning in advance of fi nding suitable accommodation?


• How comfortable am I to return to the same place regularly, and do I enjoy having the comfort of having my own things around me?


• Would I like independence and the opportunity to come and go as I please? This would be a less costly option than investing in a second bricks and mortar home.


• Do you plan your breaks well in advance, or like to go on the spur of the moment?


• Would you be looking to guarantee a continuously high standard in your holiday accommodation, decorated, furnished and equipped to your own taste and available to you at no extra cost?


Have you compared the likely cost of staying in hotels or guest houses each year, against the cost and potential savings of your own holiday home- from-home?


So what are the costs? Can you aff ord the capital outlay, or meet the regular fi nance payments? A second-hand holiday home can cost from a few thousand pounds upwards to over £50,000 for a top of the range new holiday home or nearly £140,000 for a new luxury lodge home.


Next there is the cost to deliver, site and connect your chosen holiday home on your dream park. Please ask a member of our sales team who will be happy to advise you on these charges.


Lastly, once your holiday home is successfully sited on your chosen park, you will be required to pay an annual site fee for use of the park throughout the season dates. Similar to your family home, you will be required to pay for other utilities such as gas, electricity and water which all needed to be factored in when calculating the full cost of your holiday home. These will be covered in Step 3.
