Finding your dream park STEP3
There are two ways to move through this next step. The fi rst is to visit the selection of parks our sales advisors have picked for you based on your personal requirements. If you would like to consider additional parks, you can use the parks section in the second half of this guide and fi nd ones which may be suitable to you.
On the following page is a facilities key which explains the icon symbols which appear next to the parks in the second half of the brochure. These show the facilities available on a park or near a park.
You are sure to be amazed at the quantity, diversity and standards of each unique park. Owners and Managers are proud of their parks, and of the awards they have won. Within our area we are fortunate to have many of the most attractive, professionally run and well-equipped parks in the United Kingdom. In recognition of this, the area boasts the ‘Best Park in Britain’, the ‘Best Park in Wales’ and the ‘Most improved park in Wales’.
Some parks provide peace and quiet which may be more suitable for couples and the older generation. Alternatively, others specialise in looking after families and provide facilities such as play areas, clubs, entertainment and amusements to suit.
When you visit one of the parks for the fi rst time this provides a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the drive from your family home. Would you be comfortable making this journey once every few weeks to a month depending on how regularly you plan on using your holiday home.
Once you arrive on the park, pop in to reception and visit the park manager who will be excited to give you a personal tour of their park and highlight the benefi ts of becoming an owner there. The meeting with the park manager tends to be friendly and informal, giving you the opportunity to get to know one another and importantly ensure that you and your family can enjoy holiday home ownership on their park.
Our main advice at this stage is to ask a lot of questions. The current year's site fees, the rates costs and the terms and conditions on the agreement you may be about to enter into with that park are very important to know at this stage. Would you have a parking space next to your holiday home? Would you be responsible for maintaining any of the lawns around your holiday home? There is plenty to be mindful of at this stage. You should also be sure to ask the park manager for information about how long you would be permitted to keep your holiday home on the park for. On many parks there tends to be an age limit for holiday homes so that the park can keep an up to date appearance and standard; you should fi nd out from the park manager what options you have at this point.
Once you have seen the park, don’t rush to move on to the next park on your viewing list. You should pay a visit to the most local town to realise what can be done in the area.
