THE IMPORTANCE OF CHOOSING THE RIGHT HOLIDAY PARK

The next stage is to repeat this process for the other parks you are considering as a potential base to enjoy holiday home ownership. If these are in the same area, you may be able to do this over a weekend. If the parks are some distance apart it may take a little bit longer. Be mindful of how long it would take to travel to these parks from your family home, even if you aren’t going there directly for the initial visit.

Once you have made all your park visits, as a family you need to make your choice using all the information you have collected. At your chosen park, there will either be holiday homes for sale which Salop Leisure have already supplied to the park, or vacant pitches available that can accommodate your dream holiday home. Salop Leisure will arrange to transport onto your chosen pitch ready for you to take ownership of.

The park manager will advise you what size models the pitch can accommodate and give you examples of what holiday homes Salop Leisure supply which would be suitable for that particular pitch.

You should be aware of where on the park the sun rises and sets which is very handy if you plan on enjoying dinner on your decking for example. It is also helpful to know where the key features of the park are such as a fi shing pond at the centre which can only be seen if the living room sofa faces in a particular direction. At this stage, you would pay the park for them to reserve your pitch and then return to one of our dealerships to select and choose your perfect model.

"We adopted a fairly structured approach to our decision making so that before we visited any sites we knew what we could af ord and what we wanted: A site within easy walking distance of a nice beach, with facilities for our grandchildren, dog friendly, and close enough to visit most weekends.

With Salop Leisure's help we identif ed some sites and arranged to visit them all in one day. T e f rst site we visited had been recommended to us by friends and we did like it. In fact each site we visited had unique at ractions.

T en we arrived at our chosen park which ticked all the boxes but there was something else: it felt right. We chose it and now love it. T e lesson is, yes, use your head to identify what you want but listen to your heart too. You’ll know when you feel that you actually “belong” somewhere."
