COMMUNITY PHARMACY SERVICE AWARD Elizabeth (Liz) Taylor, Jackie Bayne, Janine Glen and Lesley-Anne Graham

A LIFETIME

OF CARE Four Pharmacy Careers Spanning Generations of Care

The four winners of this year’s Community Pharmacy Service Award have a cumulative total of 150 years service. Each of them has dedicated a huge part of their lives to the community pharmacy sector and have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to both their patients and colleagues. Taking home the award this year were Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Bayne, Janine Glen and Lesley-Anne Graham.

Jackie Bayne Denny Pharmacy

Having served the Denny community for 40 years, Jackie is not just a dispenser, she is a trusted and familiar face. She takes immense pride in being part of people’s lives, having watched families grow, supported patients through difficult times and celebrated milestones alongside them. Those relationships genuinely matter to her and that connection is what drives her to give her best every single day.

“Jackie has a remarkable connection with our patients. She has watched generations grow up in Denny, serving grandparents, parents and now their children. Everyone knows her and her warm personality and brilliant chat make every patient feel valued and at ease,” said Director Aidan Connolly who nominated Jackie.

Jackie’s contribution to the pharmacy extends beyond the patients and the dispensing role. As a mentor to her colleagues, she is credited with influencing the culture and performance of the entire pharmacy team. She patiently trains and supports new staff, passing on her skills, standards and pride in community pharmacy.

“Jackie hasn’t slowed down in four decades and her work ethic is unreal. She approaches every single day with energy, commitment and genuine care, setting the standard for the entire team. Her knowledge and experience are second to none and she uses them not only to ensure the safe and efficient running of the dispensary, but to constantly improve it,” said Aidan.

Lesley-Anne Graham, Emma Robertson who picked up the award for her colleague Liz Taylor, and Jackie Bayne who were presented with the awards by Saam Ali, MD at Pharmacy Mentor who was presenting on behalf of Meditech.

All these years later, Jackie is still developing practical systems and processes that improve the running of the pharmacy. Her redesign of the weekly compliance aid system has had a profound impact on patient safety and continuity of care and flags patients not collecting their compliance aids as expected.
