NEW FLAGSHIP BRANCH FOR ROWLANDS!

Local MP for Gordon, Richard Thomson, and local MSP for Aberdeenshire East, Gillian Martin, recently visited Rowlands’ new concept pharmacy on Market Street in Ellon. The pharmacy was chosen by Rowlands to be one of its flagship investments in new state-of-the-art service provision alongside traditional dispensing services.

Specialist services at the new branch will include access to an automated 24-hour prescription collection point – ‘PharmaSelf’ – giving customers added flexibility and convenience, allowing them to collect their prescriptions at a time that suits them.

Rowlands pharmacy welcomes special guests to Ellon flagship

‘It’s great to see Richard and Gillian take time out of their busy diaries to see how we are investing in improving healthcare in Ellon,’ said Diane Bates, Rowlands local team leader. ‘Alongside GPs, community pharmacy is a critical part of ensuring people can easily access the healthcare advice and support they need. The team at Ellon are very proud to be leading the way in patient service innovation.’

NHSGGC GIVES ADVICE ON URGENT DENTAL CARE

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is giving advice to patients who are suffering dental pain, or who think they need urgent dental care, as part of a nationwide effort to ease the pressures on both health services and its Emergency Departments.

Emergency Departments across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are exceptionally busy and, as is the case across Scotland, many people are facing a long wait.

The Dental Advice Helpline is available on 0141 201 4209 during working hours, or NHS24 on 111 after hours or at weekends.

‘We are working with dental practices across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to ensure they are able to see as many patients as possible,’ said Lisa Johnston, General Manager for the Oral Health Directorate at NHSGGC.

‘However, due to national COVID guidelines, there continue to be limits on the number of patients that can be seen, so it is particularly important that people follow the appropriate advice.’

FIRST NET ZERO HEALTHCARE FACILITY MOVES A STEP CLOSER!

Architects and planners have set out details around a new community health hub in Glasgow that will be Scotland’s first net zero health and care centre.

Plans are progressing for the £67 million North East Hub in Parkhead, which has been designed to be an energy efficient building that is fully powered from renewable energy sources.

The new health and care centre will be a true community asset, with a number of GP practices and clinical and social care teams sited within the building, as well as the relocated Parkhead Library and community spaces, including a café incorporated within the site.
