The unique, fully-automated scanning system means loading prescriptions takes just a fraction of the time compared to that of other solutions currently on the market. Safety has been dramatically improved, by virtually eliminating the chance of human error from hand-held scanning by staff.
A customer survey from Downley Pharmacy, High Wycombe, shows figures representing usage over a six -month period through to the end of December 2019. Findings showed that 49 per cent of collections took place outside of opening hours, with peak usage being late morning and just after closing time/early evening. In one instance,

figures showed 9.6 per cent of patients started using Downley Pharmacy because of the MedPoint. In addition, another 18.3 per cent of patients occasionally used the pharmacy before, but would now always use the pharmacy regularly due to the MedPoint.
When the concept for MedPoint first came to play, founders Mark Hedley and Kevin Murphy MPharm identified the urgent need to adapt their own pharmacy group in line with anticipated changes in the community pharmacy sector.
