Telford, Shropshire Muller Expansion Project
Kingfisher Lighting, part of the Luceco plc group, also supplied luminaires for this project. Italo LED lanterns were wall mounted and used to illuminate transportation docks as well as column mounted to light the access route into the plant. The Italo range offers high performance functionality, versatility and a wide variety of optics providing an energy efficient LED lighting solution suitable for many amenity and street applications.
Efficiency and sustainability are high on the agenda at Muller in particular taking care of the environment on a local, national and global basis. The new facilities in Telford are a long way from Theobald Alfons Müller’s small dairy in the Bavarian town of Aretsried, who
had just four employees in 1971. Today, the Müller Group has an extended family of over 25,000 people, 13,500 of whom are based in the UK, including the Muller facilities in Telford, now benefitting from cost effective, energy efficient LED lighting from Luceco.
“Due to their nature, Washroom, Utility, Walkway & External Spaces areas are often constantly lit even though not always in use. Clever use of simple lighting controls can further reduce energy consumption using integral microwave sensors programmed to reduce the lux level and wattage of the luminaire, to operate at a low light level when unoccupied. This allows energy to be saved without reducing the communal area to darkness, providing a safe lit environment for users.”
