Energy Savings at Tata Steel in Hartlepool


Tata Steel is one of the world’s most geographically diversified steel producers, with operations in 26 countries. Luceco has assisted Tata to update 400W Discharge fittings for the Eris LED HighBay luminaires with a return on investment within two years. Eris is a modern and slim IP65 rated luminaire, with die-cast aluminum body and polycarbonate lens optic with a 120-degree beam angle as standard for optimum performance.


Eris comes in 100W, 150W, 200W and 240W and is supplied complete with a hook for suspension mounting. 0ptions include 13500 – 32400 lumen output variants delivering 135Llm/cW and is available with 60, 90- and 120-Degree Aluminum Reflector accessories.


The overall project greatly improved the lighting levels in the production areas providing an enhanced


working environment to meet the lighting levels set by Tata Steel. Works included a replacement of over 120 fittings that reduced energy per fitting from 440W to 150W by in excess of 60%.
