1 Hazardous Environment
Object Installation Project number Date
The aims of lighting in the food and drink industry are to enable the visual task to be carried out as easily as possible and to help create a clean hygienic working environment. A bright environment can be created by using high-reflectance areas coupled with luminaires with a wide-light distribution and a generous upward lighting component. Luminaires should be easily cleaned, maintained and have the minimum horizontal surface area upon which contaminants can hide. Some environments in the food and drink industry will require IP rated fittings.
