OUR STORY
In 1989, Major Neil Ballantyne left the Parachute Regiment and took on the role of fundraising for ‘Para 90’. This commemorated the founding of the British Airborne Forces 50th anniversary. With the idea in mind to create something timeless that could be used to commemorate occasions such as this. Neil designed ‘The Drop Order Para’ – A sculpture that became the foundation of a lasting idea.
At the time, his wife Michelle, a qualified nurse, was working in NHS management. In 1990 they decided to relocate to Scotland with their three young sons.
Together in 1991 they founded Ballantynes of Walkerburn Ltd. Located on the banks of the River Tweed, about 30 miles south from Edinburgh.
Today, Neil & Michelle are joined by four of their children and a dedicated team of employees, some of whom have been with the company for over twenty years. It is their constant pursuit of excellence that sets Ballantynes apart.

With a collection of over 400 unique pieces, including 43 dedicated to the Emergency Services. Our silver, cold-cast bronze and hand painted sculptures are truly unmatched in quality & craftsmanship.
Special Bottle Service
We personalise premium, branded spirits with your custom engraving on the front of the bottle. Branding details are carefully engraved on the back as required.
Fine Crystal & Glass
Our collection includes plain, panel and fully cut crystal. Featuring decanters, goblets, elegant serving tray sets and more. We also have a large selection of glass trophies & awards.
