need to design the optimal layout of other temporary facilities on-site such as office trailers and batch plants.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN The SoHo units were designed with their own dedicated lifts, which could help the application of physical distancing measures during the movement control order (MCO). Taking advantage of the north-south orientation for passive cooling, one block was purposely designed to be higher than the other. Recreation facilities were designed at level seven to leverage the slab covering of the podium car park underneath.
The design challenge was to create a development that complemented the scale of the surrounding area, yet still projecting a bold statement worthy of a landmark for Kota Warisan. Thus, in addressing contextuality, the façade took the form of a modernist cubic style with strong geometrical patterns to reduce monotony while cutting the overall mass of otherwise a bulky structure.
