CHANGING LIVES.

Susan Cybulski, who immigrated to Canada in the 1960s from Hungary and to the U.S. in the 1990s, started mentoring at Queens in 2019.

A former Bank of America vice president, Cybulski built her career in finance over five decades and she cites her own education (McGill University MBA ’79) as a driving force behind her life’s work. This past year, she established two annual scholarships for students in the MBA program for whom she has served as mentor.

“It was one of these ‘aha’ moments when I was looking at my financials and realized I really should be giving back,” Cybulski said. “I started with nothing, and I had a great life and now I could give back.”

“It’s pretty incredible to be getting that perspective from her years of experience. She just has a spirit of gratitude that radiates when she speaks.”

— Akira Shavers MBA ’23, Susan Cybulski MBA Scholar
