SHAPING LEADERS.

Te Belk Foundation has generously contributed each year to the School Executive Leadership Academy (SELA), culminating in more than $350,000 of support since the program’s inception in 2012.

An ongoing partnership with Queens McColl School of Business and Queens Cato School of Education, the 14-month certificate program focuses on hands-on learning, real-world experiences and relevant content to infuse Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) and surrounding districts with talented leaders. The program was also made possible with initial support from the Wallace Foundation, Wells Fargo and The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.

LEARN MORE ABOUT SELA

“The lens of leadership provides common purpose and perspective through it all. You don’t go from being a bank teller straight to CEO.”

— Alison Hiltz, director, Cato External Relations and Executive Leadership Institute Educational Leadership Programs

“Investing in the pipeline of school leadership for CMS was a natural fit.”

— Johanna Edens Anderson, Executive Director, The Belk Foundation
