CAMBRIDGE’S LARGEST PRIVATE HIRE OPERATOR, PANTHER TAXIS, REBRANDS AS VEEZU

Panther Taxis, the largest PH operator in Cambridge, is rebrand- ing as Veezu. The change follows Panther’s acquisition by the Veezu Group in 2022 and marks the next step in Veezu’s mission of delivering smarter, more

connected and

sustainable transport services across the region. Passengers are already benefitting from the rollout of the Veezu app, introduced in Cambridge in 2024. The app features smarter address search, real-time vehicle tracking, multiple payment options includ- ing Apple Pay, Google Pay and cash. Business travellers from 2000 corporate accounts will continue

to enjoy Veezu’s dedicated account support and streamlined digital booking solutions. By combining Panther’s trusted local expertise with Veezu’s national scale and technology, the service is evolving to offer even greater convenience and reliability for communities across Cam-

bridge and the surrounding areas. The rebrand comes at a time when Cambridge is stepping up its efforts to modernise local transport and cut emissions. Veezu operates a fleet of over 650 vehicles in the region, and an increasing proportion of these are hybrid or fully electric, helping reduce emissions and improve air quality in line with the city’s climate ambitions. Veezu’s ongoing investment in lower-emission vehicles and smarter ride technology supports this direction by offering cleaner, more

efficient ways across the region.

NORFOLK’S LARGEST TAXI FIRM ABC TAXIS SHIFTS GEARS AND REBRANDS AS VEEZU

ABC Taxis, the dominant taxi operator in Norfolk since

its

establishment in 1994, has officially rebranded to Veezu, marking a new chapter for the local transportation giant. The move follows the acquisition of the Norwich-based company by the rapidly expanding Veezu Group in 2022. Veezu, a Welsh-based technology firm, boasts the title of the UK’s fastest-growing taxi and private hire business, currently managing a network of over 16,000 drivers nationwide. Since joining the Veezu Group, ABC Taxis has experienced notable growth, and is also making significant strides in environmental sustainability. More than 75% of its

500-vehicle fleet now comprises hybrid or EVs, positioning it as a regional leader in low-emission transport. Chris Ford, regional operations director for Veezu, emphasised the continuity of service despite the name change. “ABC Taxis has been central to Norwich and the wider Norfolk transport network for over three decades,” he stated.

“This has continued under Veezu and as we rebrand the business today, we will continue to deliver the highest levels of service by combining local experience with national capabilities.” Looking ahead, Ford highlighted the company’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience. “As we continue to grow, we’re focused on delivering passenger experience through ongoing investment in service, improved air quality and enhanced technology and continued collab- oration with local organisations.” The rebranding signals Veezu’s intention to leverage ABC Taxis’ established local presence with its national resources and technological advancements.
