ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO...
In the general category of “hurry up and wait”, nothing takes the bis- cuit more than court decisions – or tran- scripts thereof. So this month we present to you on Page One the first of three outcomes we’ve been waiting for: the judgement from the Worboys insur- ance case, which upheld that his victims could not claim com- pensation from his motor insurers for his heinous crimes – despite those atroci- ties having taken place in his taxi. The hearing took place in April; the judgement
was
released two months later. We’re still waiting for the transcript of the Cardiff penalty point scheme 1
May 22/23 and pré- cised on last month’s front page; however, judging by the number of phone calls and emails to the Associa- tion in the past few weeks, an awful lot of people need to know the exact detail of the verdict... As soon as, promise! And then there is the Addison Lee bus lane debate. This issue was heard on June 20/21 in the
Administrative
Court, and once again, loadsapeople await the outcome of this one. Oh well, while you’re waiting you
attempts to clear some of the fug sur- rounding various of the 73 proposals and questions. We do hope this places suffi- cient emphasis on the importance of whole
legislative

Do please put pen to paper, or bash the keyboard... it’s your future at stake here. Hampden Cabs. Chief Anorak has been rather inundated with hackney tariff changes of late; these are sum- marised in the latest League Tables. Do give us a shout if you wish to bandy some figures about and work out a compre- hensive application. “And don’t forget to check out our regular news

caused by a surplus of taxis around the place; and there’s some sound advice about HMRC in ‘Taxing Mat- ters’. So get stuck in, have a good read, and do please take some time over the Law Commission consulta- tion. It’s crucial.
