AWARDING... THREE SOUTH TYNESIDETAXI FIRMS CELEBRATE THREE STAR OPERATOR STATUS
Three taxi firms in South Tyneside have become the first to pick up Three Star Operator status. Representatives from Bede Taxis, Dial a Cab and Richmond Taxis have been given posters and stickers for their vehicles so that they can show off their new status to potential customers. A council spokesman told the South Shields Gazette: “This scheme enables the public to identify the companies which are providing the highest levels of serv- ice. I look forward to seeing more taxi com- panies gain three star status in the near future. “We carry out regular checks on taxis, PHVs and drivers, but this scheme is about recognising those
tions and assess them against 12 criteria. The criteria covers mat- ters including consistent pricing, the condition and cleanli- ness of the office, the accuracy of records, the availability of wheelchair accessible vehicles, as well as records and actions relating to any complaints that are received.
