Lufthansa Group unveils buy-on-board catering

Spruengli for its Swiss Saveurs menu, with choices including a Swiss Angus beef burger, saffron noodles with asparagus and bircher muesli (pictured top). All three airlines will still offer water and a chocolate free of charge.
Accor to open first Fairmont property in Ireland
ACCOR IS SET TO OPEN Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, in County Kildare this summer following a multimillion-euro refurbishment. Located in Maynooth, about half an hour’s drive from Dublin airport, the 18th-century Palladian-style mansion will have 169 rooms and suites – 18 in the House and 151 in the Garden Wing, which curves around the estate’s formal gardens. Food and drink options include the Whiskey Library,
casual dining venue Kathleen’s Kitchen, the Courtyard Bar with outdoor terrace, and the Morrison Room, a fine- dining evening restaurant and morning breakfast room. Further facilities include two championship 18-hole golf
courses set in the property’s 40 hectares of grounds, and a renovated spa and wellness facility with a new thermal relaxation experience. Carton House will join London’s Savoy and Fairmont
St Andrews as the third Fairmont property in the UK and Ireland. Fairmont Windsor Park is set to open later this year.
ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT ROUND-UP
FINNAIR ‘COULD BUY 20’ 19-SEATER AIRCRAFT Finnair has signalled its intention to add electric aircraft to its fleet by signing a letter of interest with Swedish start-up Heart Aerospace for its ES-19 model. The 19-seat aircraft is currently under
development and is expected to be available for commercial flights from 2026. Finnair said that it could acquire up to 20 of the new aircraft “for use on the airline’s short routes”. The ES-19 has a range of 400km.
ROLLS-ROYCE PARTNERS WITH WIDEROE TO DEVELOP ALL-ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT
