introducing this across their connected feets. Emirates and Etihad, for instance, already have this available on selected fights. Rather than needing a credit card to connect to the traditional wif hotspot, data usage is billed by the traveller’s mobile phone provider in the same way as other roaming charges. Some providers now even offer plans that include infight roaming as standard. All in all, it’s quite seamless, when it works. But
as certain networks may continue to charge infated roaming prices for every single megabyte, the plane’s traditional wif hotspot remains a confdent alternative. In either case, your data still travels via the same satellite, bound for its own destination back on Earth. And these days, it’ll be there before you blink.
