Coaching and mentoring for managers and supervisors

If you work with others, you are probably coaching or mentoring them without even knowing it. Anyone with relevant experience can mentor and absolutely everyone can coach. A training session, led by Daniel Park, the Library and Knowledge Service Manager at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, helps you to tease out the skills you need to help other people reflect on their strengths and weaknesses and develop themselves both personally and professionally.

Objectives of the event are to highlight some of the best quality titles published for children & young people between 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025; Provoke discussion and debate about excellence in children’s & young people’s books and provide a platform for professional networking and sharing of best practice across public and school libraries in the southeast.

A participant-driven weekend with the theme Connecting, Influencing and Inspiring - it avoids formality and hierarchical approach by keeping numbers low and providing par- ticipants with lots of opportunities to network and collaborate. The programme is still being finalised but the draft programme includes talks by Maths teacher and museum educator Tom Briggs. Ian Pringle, Actor facilitator and mask maker, Helen Foster, Writer, researcher, writing for wellbeing facilitator, oral historian, and many more from the KIM and library sectors like Helene Russell, Author, Trainer and Consultant in Knowledge Management. And CILIP President Sue Lacey Bryant. It also

Copyright Essentials Autumn 2025 – CPD-certified Training

14 and 21 October 2025 9.30am – 1pm A two part online workshop for anybody who needs an introduction to the basic copyright principles and/or is reproducing, creating, sharing, publishing, commissioning or digitising content. It is designed for staff working across all library, information and knowledge management sectors and great for newcomers to copyright or those who need a refresher. You need to attend both parts to complete the programme.
At the end of the training session, delegates now have the option to take a short quiz if they want to earn CPD points. There are no additional fees associated with the CPD certification.
