Join Member Fest: a network of benefits at your fingertips
CILIP’s Member Fest is set to make a return early next year, and plans are already underway to make sure it is bigger and better than before. The week-long celebration is a chance to connect and re-con-
nect with CILIP’s community, network and colleagues. The first festival saw CILIP’s Member Networks and Special Interest Groups hosting a series of events throughout the week, and this year’s Member Fest will look to provide even more opportuni- ties to take part.
Taking place from 2-6 March 2026, Member Fest is co-creat-
ed between CILIP and its groups. This month a call for ideas has been issued, asking for CILIP’s groups and networks to submit ideas for events to take place in the spring. As well as offering current members a better insight into
what is on offer through CILIP’s groups, it is also an opportu- nity to invite potential new members through the door to get a taste of how being part of CILIP could help them. Utilising a mix of online and in-person workshops, discus- sions, training and meet-ups, the festival will highlight some of the great offers available to members throughout the year. Louise Greener, Events Manager at CILIP says: “Last year’s festival engaged over 1,000 unique attendees from across the sector, offering colleagues the chance to connect with CILIP’s areas of work and make vital connections within our profes- sional community. The programme featured over 25 different
online and in-person workshops and gatherings hosted by our incredible volunteer communities, with events ranging from online training in AI and open science through to Lego and networking.” Anyone who took part in the first Member Fest will notice a change in the schedule as it moves from autumn to spring. Louise says: “After taking onboard feedback from our launch in 2024, we are coming back with a spring 2026 event, which presents a much better timing for colleagues in the education sector. We’ll be bringing an even bigger programme to build on our diverse representation of the sector. There really will be an event for everyone.”
Networks and special interest groups are free to join for any CILIP member, and Member Fest is a perfect opportunity to find out more about what’s on offer and meet some of the peo- ple who help to make it happen.
Whether you are looking to build connections in your own sector,
find out more about what’s happening elsewhere in the profession or discover how CILIP can help you in your professional devel- opment, there will be plenty on offer throughout the week. As the programme evolves, more details will be made available,
but the best way to make sure you don’t miss out is to sign up to CILIP’s e-newsletter at
www.cilip.org.uk/CILIPmailinglistsignup. Networks looking to submit ideas for Member Fest 2026 can find more details at
