A

utumn is a time of plenty, and this year is no different - with four great CILIP events on the horizon. Kicking off at the start of October is Green Libraries Week, which is your chance to share the work you do to deliver sustain- able futures for your services and users.

Green Libraries Week is a great way to engage with your users about positive environmental action, encouraging communities to take action at a local level. And for any library and information professionals who wants to discover more about how services can develop their sustainable practices, November will see the return of CILIP’s Green Libraries Conference. You can find out more about both events in this issue. Rewired, CILIP’s tech and digital-focused conference also returns in November. Rewired was launched last year and is an opportu- nity for tech-curious information professionals from all sectors to discover new ways of working and delivering services while utilising the latest tools.

And joining the roster of CILIP’s autumn events for 2024 is Member Fest, a week of online sessions hosted by CILIP’s Member Networks and Special Interest Groups. Member Fest is a chance to explore the wide variety of offers from CILIP’s network of groups. All events are free and open to members and non-members, allow- ing you to discover new areas of interest. The programme is on the CILIP website - just look for information on Member Fest on the events page.

And with the nights drawing in, and summer fading away, this time of year could be the perfect opportunity to invest in your own professional development. As well as attending one of the autumn events outlined above, there are plenty of training sessions taking place over the next few months.

If you are thinking about starting your Professional registration journey, then why not explore how CILIP can support you. There are plenty of options to explore to help ensure you find the right level and stay on track to achieve your professional goals. Your CILIP membership comes with a host of benefits and oppor- tunities (including discounts on all our paid-for events, plus many that are completely free for members). Even if you can’t make it to an event, you can still take advantage of your membership by build- ing a professional network and developing your skills at your own pace and in your own time.

But if you can join an event at Member Fest, it is a great opportu- nity to start making those connections and discover all that CILIP has to offer.
