E
vents, networking, opportunities to share knowledge and insight are all part of our daily work at CILIP as the professional association for everyone working in libraries, knowledge and information.
The pandemic has encouraged us to get creative, find- ing new ways of bringing our community together and helping our members to continue their learning and development. Although everyone is getting a little ‘Zoomed out’, there is still a huge appetite for online experiences and discussions that deliver new insight. Which is why I am delighted to share the announcement of CILIP’s ‘Summer of CPD’ – an amazing programme of more than 30 online events, webinars and get-togethers taking place between now and September. Find out more at
www.cilip.org.uk/summerofcpd. Alongside the CILIP-organised programme, our fantastic Special Interest Groups and Member Networks have been developing online events and activities to help keep you connected and learning over the Summer.
The CILIP LGBTQ+ Network has launched the first-ever online Festival of Pride and Knowledge (#FPK2021), a series of talks, social activities and the launch of the online exhibition Positive Voices, celebrating positive perspectives and experiences of LGBTQ+ people (
https://tinyurl.com/ejk8z2ab).
Our fast-growing Knowledge and Information Management Special Interest Group (@CILIPKIM) has organised a week-long programme of webinars called SHIFT: The future of knowledge and information management, featuring talks from leading KM and IM practitioners (
https://tinyurl.com/7r84zyux).
Many of our online events are recorded, meaning that you can access them for your own study and research long after the event itself has taken place. As a result, we are building up a formidable library of cutting-edge content, research and insight to help you improve your practice.
Wherever you live and whatever part of the sector you work in (or would like to work in!) our busy events, CPD and training pro- gramme has something for you. Members can view listings of all of our online activities at
www.cilip.org.uk/events.
As we look ahead to a period of uncertainty around lockdown and our pandemic response, now is a good time to find out how your professional body is working to help you keep learning and develop- ing, whether at work or from home.
