AUDITORIUM RENOVATIONS


Reflecting upon our own accessibility, but wanting to maintain the look and feel of the 1930's auditorium, we faced the challenge of retrofitting the school's 400-seat auditorium with modern-day fully accessible features. From January to March, I, along with ISBVI leadership met with numerous potential contractors to present the changes that we wanted to make within the auditorium. We finally selected All Pro Integrated Systems and Sweetwater in March, and in May, the transformation started, bringing about current audio and lighting technology as well as, for the first time, video projection and wheelchair seating.


Our staff had to break out ear plugs more than once during the intense remodel, but experiencing the final result makes all the construction noise worth it. The much needed renovations now allow us to speak with our actions and to be an example of a true gathering space for all.
