Earlier this year, I was advised I was selected to be Chino High School?
s next delegate for California Girls State! This
week-long educational opportunity trains young women in the process of self-government. As summer rolled around, I was welcomed to the first ever virtual Girls State Town Hall. The powerful impact felt through the screen was indescribable. As I embodied the virtues of leadership, patriotism, and wisdom during discussions by vocalizing contemporary issues, I carried the interest of good government ideals with me as a first-time voter. Girls State cultivates young women to lead for a lifetime and I desired to engage in changing the world by utilizing my right to vote. Girls State provided me with knowledge, and I become more familiar with governmental terminology and aware of propositions, which influenced me to become a more involved citizen.
