C O HILLS HIG COL BY AS TB TE
HIN AM AR TTE CAM N
The Chino Hills basketball team united in late March to make a historic run by winning 11 straight basketball games--10 of those in the playoffs. The team traveled 423 miles miles to complete a five month odyssey to fulfill every child's dream--winning a state championship!
The boys basketball team showed their preparation by finishing the first quarter on a 15-1 run and led 23-9. The Las Lomas team showed great determination and resiliency by fighting back and narrowing the deficit to six points in the 4th quarter. But the Husky pride proved too big, too strong, too fast, and too intelligent not to bounce back, even with team captain and leader Onyeka Okongwu fouling out with four minutes left in the game. The brotherhood united and showed everyone in Div. 1 California basketball that a TEAM is bigger, better, and will go further than any one individual. The Huskies won 73-68.
Okongwu led the team with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Ofure Ujadughele kept the team together with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assist. Andre Ball finished his highlight-reel career with 17 points and multiple scholarship offers.
