ATIONnews Discover the magical world of bats
Our ever popular bat walk was well at tended again in May.
Families enjoyed our fun bat-themed act ivit ies and joined a presentat ion to share what they knew and to learn more about our furry f lying mammals.
Luckily, the weather was calm and mild, perfect for insects and also for our local bats. As the sun set , we strolled through the grounds with bat detectors hissing, wait ing for those f irst clicks.
Soon the detectors were picking up fantast ic bat act ivity and our guests that evening were immersed into the bat world of echolocat ion.
It was an enjoyable evening for all of us and one we hope to repeat if you would like to join us on Internat ional Bat Weekend 2019. We are running a family bat evening and walk on August 31 f rom 7pm, and and adult-only walk on September 1 f rom 7.30pm.
