Winner of the Human Impact on Animals category and overall winner of the competition Lucy, 18, describes the beginning of their exclusive day:

Travelling to Nantwich for the visit to RSPCA Stapeley Grange, I was so excited to be f inding out about the work they do there and be taking some photos in a dif ferent set t ing.

Stapeley is one of the largest RSPCA wildlife centres in the UK, and is home to thousands of animals each year, so it seemed like the perfect locat ion for us to visit .

When we arrived, we were greeted by centre manager Lee Stewart , who has many years of experience in animal care, and judge and professional wildlife photographer Andrew Forsyth ? who explained what we?

for the day and shared some photography t ips to get the most out of our day.

d be doing

The volunteers and staf f are so hardworking and dedicated to saving lives, which was evident in the orphan room, where they feed orphaned birds and hedgehogs every hour.

The staf f were so helpful in showing us around.

I think one of the main things I learned 12

that day was how hard the RSPCA works to try to save every animal that comes into their care, whether brought in by a member of the public or an RSPCA of f icer, and how important their work is to animals in England and Wales.

We wouldn?t have as much wildlife to enjoy in our gardens and countryside without them, and this is especially important today where so many species around the world are under threat because of human act ivity.

The RSPCA?

ecosystems, and it feels so good to know that they?

s work is so vital to our to the wild world. re helping us give something back
