This placement has been very useful in providing valuable experience and helping me decide what I want to do in the future. It has enabled me to learn a lot for instance it has helped me in my ident if icat ion of species, in how to give medicat ion to a variety of animals when needed, and how to house animals and what to feed them. I have also got to be involved in many releases which are very rewarding, as you get to see the animals you've helped look af ter return to the wild. My favourite part of this placement has been looking af ter the ot ters and especially the two ot ter releases I've got to be involved with this year.

I feel like this placement year has given me so many experiences that I wouldn?t have got anywhere else. The variety of animals I get to look af ter is amazing, and every day is dif ferent ! I enjoy doing lots of tasks around the centre including feeding, administering medicat ions and even cleaning. It?


far, with one of my favourite moments being when I helped release a group of Canada geese at a nature reserve ? it was lovely seeing them take to the water and start their new life, except for one who decided to run of f into a nearby wood!
