Each group spent a day at the centre and were outstanding in their enthusiasm for wildlife and compassion for animals in need.
They set to work on their challenge to design and build top class accommodat ion for our local bugs, and enjoyed t ime in our woodland construct ing their bug hotels.
There was the unique opportunity for the children to visit our hospital window and view our wildlife staf f caring for orphan hoglets and chicks of several species, an experience which made an impression on all of them.
Our special guests were also able to spend t ime in the cat tery, visit ing their new favourite cats and kit tens. They enjoyed wildlife themes games and trails, and no prize day would have been complete without a wild tea party in the woodland area and a chance to share memories of their t ime with us. If you know of a school or are a teacher who would be interested in compet ing in this fun and informat ive act ivity, please get in touch.
