TAPA IIS INTELLIGENCE
Of the 15 TAPA IIS product categories recording losses last month, Tobacco suff ered the highest incident rate with 41 thefts or attempted thefts – 16.9% of the monthly total. Three other categories saw double-digit incident rates:
Incidents were also recorded in France (4), Austria (2), Belgium (2), Russia (2) and single crimes in Poland, Romania and South Africa.
In 208 or 86% of cargo crimes reported in December, the incident category stated was Theft from Vehicle, while Intrusion was the most recorded modus operandi, featuring in 207 or 85.6% of intelligence reports. Most crimes continued to involve thieves targeting trucks in Unsecured Parking locations, which accounted for 138 or 57% of last month’s total.

• Clothing & Footwear – 15 or 6.2% • Miscellaneous – 14 or 5.8%
Overall, cargo crimes were recorded by TAPA EMEA in 10 countries in the region, most notably:

United Kingdom – 173 crimes or 71.5% of the monthly total
• Netherlands – 42 or 17.4% • Germany – 14 or 5.8%
