The world will need to be able to support a population of nearly 10 billion by 2050. To sustain this growth, our towns and cities have to become more energy and resource efficient, communities


more interactive, economies able to respond to global economic pressures more effectively and security of food and water supply becomes imperative.


Surrey’s research is finding solutions and answers to urgent problems: looking to help provide every person in every country with water, food, energy and a home, in an environmentally and economically sustainable way.


Our research enables society to undertake activities and developments that meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own.


We are addressing these challenges, coming up with new technologies and solutions to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
