Benchmark, headquartered in Waltham, Mass., opened Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, an assisted living and memory care community in Fairfield, Conn. It marks the company’s 18th community in Connecticut and the first in Fairfield, the hometown of Benchmark CEO Tom Grape. The community offers 68 assisted living apartments and 20 memory care suites.


Newton, Mass.-based Five Star Senior Living announced the completion of an extensive renovation at Fieldstone Place, and indepen- dent living and assisted living community in Clarksville, Tenn. The $4.5 million project includes a state-of-the-art theater, renovated dining rooms, miniature putting green, com- munity library, beauty parlor, and a new gym offering Ageility Physical Therapy services for rehabilitation.


Integral Senior Living, based in Carlsbad, Calif., was named the management company forMariposa Point at Algodón Center located in Phoenix, Ariz. The community features 87 assisted living and memory care residences.


Based in Des Moines, Iowa, Life Care Services (LCS) announced the start of construction for The Delaney at Bridgewater, a 224-res- idence independent living, assisted living, and memory care community in Bridgewa- ter, N.J. It is anticipated that the community will open in fall 2020. The company also announced plans to manage a rental senior living community planned for construction in Delray Beach, Fla. The community will offer 279 residences with an anticipated opening in 2021.


Bloomington, Minn.-based MatrixCare was acquired by ResMed, a tech-driven medi- cal device company headquartered in San Diego, Calif. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of ResMed’s fiscal year 2019. Under the agree- ment, MatrixCare will continue to operate as a standalone business within ResMed’s SaaS portfolio. MatrixCare CEOJohn Damgaard will continue in his current role, reporting to Raj Sodhi, ResMed SaaS president. The company also announced that Signature

Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), headquartered in Vero Beach, Fla., announced a ground- breaking of HarborChase of Cordova in Cordova, Tenn., in partnership with Confluent Devel- opment. The community will include 60 independent living, 50 assisted living, and 34 memory care residences. The project marks HRA’s fifth partnership with Confluent Development. The company also announced the opening of HarborChase of Dr. Phillips in the Orlando, Fla. area. HarborChase of Dr. Phillips is located within the Spring Lake Health and Living Campus initially developed by Dr. Phillips Charities, which has contributed more than $190 million to cultural, educational, health, social services and youth organizations in Central Florida.


HealthCARE selected MatrixCare for its enterprise technology solution. MatrixCare will replace systems at all 115 Signature cor- porate, skilled nursing, and assisted living communities across 10 states.


Seattle, Wash.-based Merrill Gardens an- nounced the opening of two new communi- ties: Carolina Park in Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Merrill Gardens at Rancho Cucamonga in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Carolina Park, featuring 130 apartments, marks the first Merrill Gardens community to open in South Carolina. Merrill Gardens at Rancho Cucamonga, featuring 112 apartments, is the 12th community to open in California.

LCB Senior Living, headquartered in Nor- wood, Mass., broke ground on The Resi- dence at Chadds Ford in Glen Mills, Penn. The community will offer 84 independent living, personal care, and memory care residences.


The National Investment Center for Seniors and Housing (NIC), based in Annapolis, Md., launched a new digital resource—Senior Care Collaboration—designed to inspire col- laboration among those involved in the care continuum for seniors. The resource, located at seniorcare.NIC.org features curated con- tent, and resources including presentations, a blog, and event information.
