Basic Art Techniques Fee: $59/ 5 weeks
Students will be taught drawing fundamentals, including contour drawing, perspective, shading, proportion and still life rendering. Students will also learn sketching techniques with an emphasis in Contemporary Art while expressing creative thinking. Mixed media will be used. Fashion Sketching Fee: $69/ 5 weeks
Students will develop their own style of fashion illustration. Students will
learn to draw women, men, and children’s fashion models used as a basis for drawing the idealized proportions. Students will also learn how to draw flats. No prerequisite required. Our elementary-age curriculum is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary. We believe that drawing is the bedrock skill required for future artistic success. We give them skills to express their creativity, and believe that all children can – and should – learn to draw. You’ll see increased art abilities, learning skills, self-confidence and self-esteem.

For every child who dreams of partying like a rock star, Young Rembrandts offers its Rock Out! workshop. It’s five days of artistic, rock and roll imagery. During the opening act, students will draw stylized instruments. And the party never seems to end as we illustrate close-up portraits of rock stars on the second day. Then it’s time for a change of tune as we create rock-inspired cartoons on the third day. Rocking-out musicians will be the headlining act on the fourth day. SKETCH AND FRIENDS - UNDERWATER EXPLORERS: Underwater exploration comes to life in this 5-day cartoon workshop. Follow our four cartoon characters as they explore the deep blue sea. Students draw the cartoon characters in their underwater sea station, draw jokes about life on the job and illustrate other crazy encounters with Sketch and his animal friends. Owned and operated by Kevin Garrett, a USPTA Level 1 certified tennis instructor that coaches both boys and girls high school tennis, has won a Division I CIF title, and has received numerous coaching awards; including coach of the year awards from the LA Times and the OC Register. All instructors used by WCTS are USPTA certified, most having played either professional or collegiate tennis.
Beginning students learn the basic strokes, grips, and footwork of tennis. Intermediate students continue stroke development and also cover strategy and court positioning. Please bring a racket and athletic shoes. If you do not have a racket, please let the instructor know in advance and they will provide one for you. Tennis balls provided.
