LITTLE CITY
It’s a small world Give children a chance to experience the grown-up world – in miniature! Little City UK’s mini role-play environments – which include bakeries, salons, post offices and hospitals – are a fun way for pupils to explore many areas of the curriculum. Little City visits your school with everything needed for sessions that get younger pupils thinking creatively and working collaboratively in real-world scenarios. Will your set-up be a bakery at the start of the Great Fire of London for KS1 history lessons? Or a Parisian hôpital as a way of teaching modern languages? Imaginative role play supports children in PSHE lessons by helping them understand different roles and responsibilities, and learn about the world around
WIGGLY WORM FARM
Get back to nature Who remembers the joy of finding worms while playing knee-deep in mud as a child? Sovereign Play has created the Wiggly Worm Farm, allowing children to observe worms in their natural habitat without getting dirty. The set-up brings nature into the playground to promote environmental exploration, hands-on learning and a sense of responsibility for younger children. Nature’s tiniest heroes are fascinating to watch, and children will learn about eco-systems as they fill the farm with items such as soil and sticks, creating the perfect environment for worms and other creatures.

‘The Little City visit to our school was a huge success with the children! They absolutely loved it all. They were so engaged, and it was wonderful watching them interact with each other and have so much fun. It was a great way for us to revisit topics we have covered this year. The session leader was terrific at communicating and getting everything all set up smoothly. We would highly recommend.’ Claire Bird, foundation stage teacher, Parkwood Primary School, Gillingham, Kent

‘When I asked the students what they learned, the feedback was incredibly positive. One student said that he struggled with standard form before but now it made complete sense. Another found the Mars Interactive programme as close to real life as it gets and hadn’t really considered what it would be like to land on Mars. You’ve really inspired our students!’ Sheila Emery, science teacher and STEM coordinator, Noel Baker L.E.A.D Academy, Derby
