Royal Society of Biology

The Royal Society of Biology’s Gopher Science Lab initiative is designed for secondary schools to host primary-age pupils to aid transition and encourage peer-to-peer learning across age groups. Funding is available for state-funded secondary schools to deliver a Gopher Science Lab day and access training for pupils to help deliver content to younger students. Applicants need to demonstrate that, for financial reasons, they would not otherwise be able to run their own lab day. To apply, email

British Science

Two deadlines per year at the start of the spring and autumn terms
Funding is offered to assist with the cost of running CREST Awards, which are available for pupils aged three to 19 and are designed to inspire young people to think and behave like scientists and engineers through hands-on activities. Schools must be state- funded and either have 30% or more pupils entitled to free school meals, 30% or more of pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds or be in a designated rural area. Ogden Trust Up to £5,000 2 March 2026
This is the last opportunity for charities and educational establishments in England to apply for a Physics Education Grant, as the funding stream is ending in 2026. As well as funding to support the teaching and learning of physics from 11 to 18 in the classroom, applications are encouraged for enrichment activities to support extra-curricular physics activities for school and college students from under-represented groups. Once a year, schools can apply for a fully-funded Science in Schools visit from the Royal Institution. This includes two performances of a science show for KS1, KS2 or KS3 students, a CPD session for teachers and an after-school or evening community show for a family audience.
