hope your summer holidays were a delight. For me, this was the summer when everyone (fi nally) came together to help organise holiday clubs, days

out and work schedules, allowing us to do more, with less stress. You will have undoubtedly have noticed a

new name on our front cover: PTA+ and FundEd magazines have joined forces to become School Fundraising magazine, a publication for everyone who raises money

to enrich education. In this issue, we continue the theme of collaboration by exploring how schools and their PTAs can work together for the benefi t of all. As PTA chair Elizabeth Cook says in our feature on page 16: ‘It’s not like it’s one aim for the school and a different one for the PTA.’ For those wondering how to attract a well-known name to their cause,

Nuala Calvi discovers that the key is fi nding someone with a local or personal connection. Turn to page 22 to read how two PTAs sprinkled celebrity stardust on their fundraising. Sarah Everson highlights available grants for PTAs and schools on

page 41. This issue’s theme is grants for STEM and includes awards for projects that communicate maths in an unusual way and science events that involve the local community. At the end of last year, we asked writer Daniel Etherington to choose

his favourite festive events. If you need inspiration for your Christmas fair, you will fi nd it in abundance on page 30. Finally, our new Enrichment section, which begins on page 53, is a

guide to our favourite products, workshops, challenges and competitions to get your school fi red up for the year ahead. It’s time to gather your team and plan your best year of fundraising. Enjoy the term!
