Youth Sport Trust British Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a fast-paced, energetic sport that can be enjoyed by children of all ages, with very little equipment. British Dodgeball supports teachers, school coaches and students in delivering the sport in schools, by providing online and in-person training. Schools can also access resources and download guides on running dodgeball clubs, competitions and activities. britishdodgeball.org/schools ‘We offer dodgeball during lessons and as an after- school club for Years 7-11. We have Ben Hoyle from British Dodgeball coming in to deliver leadership education so that Workington Academy can host a primary school competition to nine feeder primary schools, and a secondary age competition with nine local secondary schools.’ Barry Wilkinson, PE teacher, Workington Academy, Workington, Cumbria

This national children’s charity has a team of athlete mentors – including Olympic, Paralympic, World Championship and Commonwealth medallists – to support and empower young people. Mentors can visit your school to deliver assemblies, workshops and masterclasses, working with targeted pupil groups to improve resilience, confidence and self-esteem. Bespoke workshops are offered on themes such as raising aspirations, leadership skills and employability. Motivational speeches, guest appearances at sports days and taster sessions can also be arranged as part of a YST Athlete Mentor programme. youthsporttrust. org/athletementorvisits
