Lucas Spencer was presented with both the 16-18 Apprentice of the Year Award and the Principal’s Award after progressing from a Foundation Engineering programme to a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship with Brooksbank Valves. His employers highlighted his “focus and professionalism” and his remarkable journey from an entry-level course to a promising career in advanced engineering.

The nominations for the Employer Skills Commitment Award were:

The Employer Skills Commitment Award went to Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust in recognition of a long-standing partnership providing placements across a range of curriculum areas. They create meaningful experiences that develop skills, confidence and professional behaviours, enabling many learners to progress into apprenticeships and employment. Their involvement in curriculum design and industry engagement ensures training remains relevant and aligned with workforce needs.
Raluca Tandea shone throughout her T Level in Business by showing exceptional commitment, resilience and enthusiasm. Her Tutor said she approaches everything with confidence and curiosity, consistently engaging in lessons and striving to deepen her understanding. Her strong work ethic and determination ensured her success in winning the T Level Skills Award Student of the Year.
Leanne Conroy’s professionalism, leadership and commitment throughout her Business Administration apprenticeship within the NHS meant she achieved outstanding academic success, including a triple distinction in her End-Point Assessment. Her ability to lead impactful projects, improving reporting processes and supporting more effective decision-making were just some of the skills which secured her the Adult Apprentice Award.
