▲ Remediation work is now under way to transform the site of the new multi-million- pound Fisherman’s Friend factory development in Fleetwood – readying it for construction to begin. Blackpool headquartered Fox Group is carrying out the work, which includes vegetation clearance, site stripping, earthworks, cut-and-fill operations, and the import of more than 20,000 tonnes of aggregate to prepare the ground for the next phase of construction.

▲ Five new trade apprentices have joined Warden Construction while five existing team members have completed their training and progressed into permanent roles with the business. The annual intake of apprentices forms part of the Kirkham firm’s investment in developing its own talent, creating career opportunities and building the skills needed to support the company’s future growth.
▲ Care provider Provisio Care Group has acquired Moor Park House in Preston, a specialist centre dedicated to treating people with complex spinal and brain injuries. The Blackpool firm now operates three care homes in the north west, as well as a temporary staffing agency, Provisio Care Force.
▲ Booths, headquartered in Preston, has received a 2026 Princess Royal Training Award for its specialist training academies. The chain’s specialist cheese, butchery and fish academies are designed to develop colleagues’ knowledge and expertise while preserving traditional skills that have largely disappeared from the wider supermarket sector.
▲ Chartered accountancy PM+M, based in Blackburn, has seen its turnover grow by 10 per cent for the last financial year, increasing from £12.7m to £13.9m. The firm’s growth was underpinned by strong performances across the financial planning, audit and tax teams.

▲ Outpost Bakery in Eccleston had five products shortlisted in the prestigious Great British Food Awards for 2026 on its first time entering. The shortlist comes just weeks after the company was also named as a finalist in the fourth edition of The Best Croissant UK Competition. The Great British Food Awards recognise the very best of UK food and drink and are judged by leading chefs, critics and industry experts.
▲ Burnley based video wall specialist Ultimate Visual Solutions (UVS) has reported strong sales growth and a marked increase in the number of integration partners it is working with. The business says sales of its Lucidity video wall controller and software have almost trebled in the last three years, with strategic investments placing it in a ‘good position’. And over that same three-year period, from May 2023 to May 2026, the number of its integration partners rose by 20 per cent, to more than 300.
▲ Virgin Wines will relocate into new premises at the new APTUS development, just off Junction 31A of the M65 at Preston. Currently based at Roman Way Industrial Estate, Longridge Road in Ribbleton, Virgin will move into two units on the APTUS development totalling 82,000 sqft.
▲ Environmental technology company Hypo Solutions has moved into new office and warehouse premises at the Engine House, Lomeshaye Bridge Mill, Nelson. The business was launched five years ago from a home office but needed space to grow as it builds commercial opportunities across the UK and overseas. The move gives the company space to hold stock, develop products and adapt specialist application equipment as it moves from early scientific and technical development towards wider commercial use.
▲ Fast growing Blackburn headquartered property firm Adhan Group has acquired a 244-bed student living complex in the heart of Preston’s university quarter. No price has been put on the deal to purchase Friargate Court but the property was placed on the market in May this year with a £9.75m price tag.
▲ Northern Trust Land has signed 10 new strategic land promotion agreements over the past 12 months, strengthening its growing portfolio of residential development opportunities across England. The agreements, which cover about 456 acres of land, represent the potential delivery of 3,000 new homes across a range of strategically located sites nationwide.
