WELSH MOUNTAIN HOME’S 100-YEAR LEGACY OF COMPASSION AND CARE HAS ENRICHED THE LIVES OF MANY SENIORS WHO HAVE CALLED THIS PLACE HOME.
For almost a century, our mission of serving adults from diverse backgrounds and income levels, along with our commitment to reflecting Christ in all we do, have combined to make living at Welsh Mountain Home a unique experience.
O
ver the past decade, the need to improve facilities to ensure the personal safety and dignity of residents has become increasingly evident. Te COVID-19 pandemic created even more challenges as shared bathrooms made it difficult to control the spread of infection.
Terefore, the Welsh Mountain Home Board of Directors has approved a renovation plan of the more than one-hundred-year-old facility – the first phase to provide what is needed for the long-term safety and comfort of residents and staff.
Trough the Centuries Campaign, with a goal of $2 million, generous donors will help to meet the needs of current residents and prepare to meet the growing requests of those to come. Of primary importance is the addition of 21 restrooms to offer residents the increased privacy and dignity they deserve.
Although the current Welsh Mountain Home building has served residents well for many years, it was not constructed with resident expectations in mind. Te Centuries Campaign will enable this important shift from an outdated facility, to a fresh, updated design that will better serve residents.
Some restrooms will be private, others will be shared between two residents, and visitors will have separate guest restrooms. Six living units will be eliminated in order to increase restroom availability but the new restrooms will ensure that each resident continues to receive the dedicated care, respect, and privacy that makes Welsh Mountain Home a special place to live.
Welsh Mountain Home has an incredible history of receiving gifts at just the right time and often in answer to prayer. For a century, the faithful and generous support of individuals, churches, and other friends has sustained the mission of Welsh Mountain Home. Community support of this campaign will enable continued service to current and future residents. It will not change our focus on affordable, compassionate, Christ- like care but will enhance Welsh Mountain Home’s ability to provide it.
