Seven years ago, Mary Ellen and her husband moved to Landis Homes, a decision infl uenced by friendships, timing, and family connections. Part of her joy comes from proximity to family. Her son, Steve Ness, works with administration, while her son-in-law, Steve Welch, serves in facilities. T eir daily presence brings Mary Ellen an extra layer of comfort. “It’s just a good place to be,” she said, describing her days fi lled with friendships, volunteer work in the library and mailroom, and special community celebrations like Fellowship Days.
